Our Story

A Tradition of
Leadership & Brotherhood

Cub Scouts Pack 223 has been a cornerstone of youth development in Beatrice, guiding young men through the formative years with purpose, mentorship, and adventure. We believe that the values learned within our pack extend far beyond the den meeting — they shape the men our community will rely on.

Our program follows the nationally recognized Boy Scouts of America curriculum, adapted to the unique spirit of our Beatrice community. From weekly den meetings to monthly pack activities, from merit badge pursuits to community service projects, every experience is designed to help each scout discover his potential.

From first step to final rank, our program evolves with your scout — challenging, rewarding, and always memorable.

Webelo Scouts

Ages 10–12 · Grades 5–6

For older scouts ready to deepen their skills and prepare for the transition to Venturing or Boy Scouting. Webelo dens focus on advanced merit badges, leadership roles, and adventurous outdoor experiences.

Tiger & Wolf Dens

Ages 7–9 · Grades 1–3

The heart of our pack. Tigers (1st grade) and Wolves (2nd grade) build foundational skills through hands-on activities, teamwork challenges, and the beginning of the rank advancement system.

Outdoor Adventures

Year-Round · All Ages

Camping trips, hiking expeditions, nature conservation projects, and outdoor skill workshops. Our scouts learn to respect the natural world while building confidence in the great outdoors.

Community Service

Monthly · All Ages

Giving back is core to scouting. Pack 223 regularly organizes food drives, park cleanups, veteran support, and neighborhood assistance projects that teach the importance of civic responsibility.

Merit Badge Program

Ongoing · All Ages

From first aid to robotics, woodworking to environmental science — our merit badge program offers dozens of subjects. Scouts earn badges that build real-world skills and college-ready resumes.

Leadership Training

Ongoing · Webelo Focus

We prepare scouts to lead. Through den officer roles, patrol methods, and service projects, young men learn to take initiative, communicate effectively, and inspire their peers.

In the Community

More Than a Pack —
A Beatrice Family

Pack 223 is deeply woven into the fabric of Beatrice. We serve alongside local organizations, support community events, and welcome families from all backgrounds into our scouting brotherhood.

Our den meetings and pack events take place at our home base on Elk Street, but our reach extends throughout the community. We partner with local businesses for fundraising, work with community leaders on service projects, and maintain a visible, positive presence in Beatrice.

Joining Pack 223 is simple. Whether your child is entering first grade or is in sixth grade, there's a place for them in our pack. We welcome families from across Beatrice and the surrounding area.

  • Open to boys in grades 1 through 5 (ages 7–12)
  • Weekly den meetings and monthly pack activities
  • Affordable membership with financial assistance available
  • Volunteer parent involvement encouraged but not required
  • BSA background-checked leadership
